Frequently Asked Questions(FAQs)

Que. Whether 50% Marks in Bachelor’s Degree means 50% in aggregate or 50% in Honours Subjects only?

Ans. The requirement of securing 50% marks in a Bachelor’s Degree refers to the aggregate percentage of all subjects studied across the entire duration of the degree. It does not apply solely to the Honours subjects. Even if an individual has scored higher in their Honours subjects but falls short in the overall aggregate, they would not meet this criterion. Therefore, candidates should calculate their percentage based on the total marks obtained in all subjects combined.

Que. If a candidate has 50% or more in aggregate in Bachelor’s Degree but less than 50% in Honours Subjects, is he/she eligible for admission to the B.Ed. Course?

Ans. Yes, a candidate who has secured at least 50% marks in aggregate in their Bachelor’s Degree is eligible for admission to the B.Ed. program, even if their marks in the Honours subjects alone are below 50%. Since the eligibility criterion is based on the aggregate percentage, as long as the overall marks meet the minimum requirement, the candidate qualifies for admission.

Que. If a candidate has less than 50% marks in aggregate in Bachelor’s Degree but 50% or more in Honours Subjects, is he/she eligible for admission to the B.Ed. Course?

Ans. No, a candidate who has secured 50% or more marks only in their Honours subjects but has an aggregate percentage of less than 50% in their entire Bachelor’s Degree is not eligible for admission to the B.Ed. program. The eligibility criteria clearly state that the minimum requirement applies to the aggregate marks of the entire degree rather than an individual subject or specialization. Thus, candidates must ensure they meet the overall percentage threshold to qualify.

Que. Is a BBA or BCA Degree holder eligible for admission to the B.Ed. Course?

Ans. Yes, candidates who have completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) are eligible to apply for the B.Ed. course, provided they meet the minimum percentage requirement. These degrees are considered valid qualifications for pursuing a B.Ed., as long as the candidate has obtained at least 50% in aggregate. Aspirants from diverse academic backgrounds can apply, ensuring they fulfill the general eligibility criteria for admission.

Conclusion

Understanding the eligibility criteria for the B.Ed. program is crucial for aspirants to make informed decisions. The minimum requirement of 50% marks applies to the overall aggregate of a Bachelor’s Degree, not just Honours subjects. Candidates must carefully evaluate their qualifications to ensure they meet the admission criteria. Additionally, degree holders from BBA and BCA backgrounds are also eligible, broadening opportunities for students from various academic fields. By clarifying these common concerns, aspirants can confidently proceed with their applications and plan their academic journey effectively.
